Secrets of Karate by Ben Otake(Kindle edition)
As can be seen by the original copyright date The Secrets of Karate (Secretos de Karate) was originally published in 1979 and was only available in Spanish. It was an extremely limited run and quickly became unavailable for purchase. Recently, students of Otake sensei expressed an interest in acquiring a copy of this publication in an English format. This text is the result. Although it has been over 40 years since this book was published and Otake sensei has evolved and developed his methods of training in karate, this volume is a valuable addition to any practitioner interested in learning the fundamentals of this martial art. One note: while the text has been translated and some reformatting has occurred from the original, all the photographs are original and scanned from the first edition text. As a result, the quality of the photos is somewhat limited due to the quality of the original publication itself. Nonetheless, the photographs and translated text offer a rare glimpse of an excellent martial artist at his peak. |
